On February 18, Park Bo-young sat down with SpoTV News at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul to discuss her new Netflix original series “Melo Movie” and its romantic storyline.

She humorously revealed her changed ideal type, saying “Good looks are the best” while discussing her role in “Melo Movie”.

Park Bo-young plays Kim Mu-bi, a young woman pursuing her filmmaking dream and navigating romance with Ko Gyeom (Choi Woo-sik).

Addressing the “ghosting breakup” in the drama, she clarified, “There was a reason behind it.” She said that despite Ko Gyeom’s sudden disappearance due to personal reasons, Kim Mu-bi understood and forgave him.

She further explained, “I didn’t think they were officially dating at that point—it was more of a some (a Korean term for an ambiguous romantic stage). I’m not sure if it counts as ghosting. Ko Gyeom is the kind of person who quietly takes care of you, checks in on you even when you’re uncomfortable, and makes an effort. When someone like that suddenly disappears, it only makes you think about them more. So I understood why Mu-bi still liked him.”

Park Bo-young shared that she has never personally experienced ghosting but emphasized that a breakup without explanation is the worst. Reflecting on her ideal type, she admitted, “I’ve always said I like someone with a healthy mind. But now, good looks are the best.”

“Melo Movie” was released on Netflix on February 14.
